Convicted Felon Accused Of Violent Sexual Assault In Lake View

Police said the man followed a woman into her apartment complex and choked her until she almost lost consciousness.

CHICAGO, IL — A convicted felon has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault after an attack in Lake View last week. The assault happened at an apartment complex in the 3900 block of North Fremont Street around 9 p.m. on Thursday, police said. The man followed a 24-year-old woman into her building, according to police.

Terrence Wright, 29, of Markham, allegedly grabbed the victim from behind and began choking her with both arms, police said. The woman almost lost consciousness, and Wright then allegedly reached down her pants and sexually assaulted her, according to police. He then stole her wallet, phone and keys and took off, police said.

Wright was arrested on Wednesday, police said. He's been charged with one felony count of aggravated criminal sexual assault, police said.
