Creepy Guy Tries Luring Girl Twice -- Including In Front of Mom: Cops

Man approached 9-year-old girl at Hamlin Park, 19th District police issue community alert, cops say.

A man tried twice to lure a 9-year-old girl into walking with him -- including one attempt in front of her mother, police said.

Around 7:20 p.m. July 25, the girl was walking with another young female when she was approached from behind by a man in the Hamlin Park Field House at 3035 N. Hamlin Ave.

Police said the man placed his hand on the girl’s shoulder and turned her around in an attempt to make her walk in another direction.

The girl’s friend grabbed her by the hand and they fled the field house together.

The next morning the girl was at Hamlin Park with her family when the man approached and greeted her.

The girl’s mother asked if he was the same man from the prior evening, after which, he fled on foot, police said.

The offender is described as a tall male white with a light complexion, long gray hair slicked back in a mullet-type style, and wearing a baseball cap, Hawaiian shirt, long khaki shorts and tan-colored, boat-style shoes, approximately 6’0 to 6’4” tall, and weighing 160 to 170 pounds.
