CTA Conductor Attacked On Red Line Near Sheridan Station

Police said a 19-year-old man was drunk when he allegedly assaulted a conductor on the North Side.

CHICAGO, IL — A man is in custody after he attacked a CTA conductor in Lakeview, police said. The man, 19, allegedly struck the conductor in the face through the train's window while it was stopped. The incident happened on the Red Line near the Sheridan Station Saturday morning, police said.

Saman Griffiths is charged with assault, police said. According to officials, he was intoxicated at the time of the alleged attack.
