Cubs' Honor 100-Year-Old Fan With VIP Treatment
Although 100-year-old diehard Cubs fan Louis Reinhart is too young to have seen the Cubs win their last World Series, he does share a birth year with Wrigley Field.
Even 100-year-old, retired farmer Louis Reinhart was too young to see the Chicago Cubs play their last World Series, but he got to walk on Wrigley Field grass for the first time before Sunday's game.
Reinhart grew up rooting for the Cubs as a lad growing up in central Illinois, and raised his sons as Cubs fans, the Chicago Tribune reported.
“It's the first time I got down on the field like that,” Reinhart told the Tribune, decked out in full Cubs regalia. “I like seeing the players.”
Reinhart got the VIP treatment by the Cubs, posing for pictures with Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo and his current favorite player, shortstop Starlin Castro. Even Cusb chairman Tom Ricketts strolled over to greet the centenarian who shares a birth year with Wrigley Field.
Unfortunately, the Miami Marlins didn't cooperate, breaking the Cubs' five-game winning streak who took a 4-3 victory.
