Dozens Arrested in North Side Drug Raid Wednesday
A Chicago Police Department crackdown on gang activity resulted in 27 arrests.
Chicago, IL - More than 25 people were arrested on drug charges on the North Side on Wednesday during a Chicago Police Department raid focusing on gang activity.
In total, 27 were arrested according to the Chicago Police Department. All offenders were listed previously on the CPD's Strategic Subject List.
“We are making clear to anyone who contributes to the violence in Chicago that the police
department will hold you accountable for your actions -- period,” Superintendent Eddie
Johnson said. “We have been taking a number of steps this summer to demonstrate that violence
this summer will not be tolerated, and we will continue this important work to ensure that every
residents enjoys the same sense of safety.”

The raid occurred within the limits of the city's 19th Police District, which has headquarters at 850 W. Addison in Wrigleyville and is bound by Lawrence Avenue to the north, Fullerton Avenue to the south, Lake Michigan to the east and the Chicago River to the west.
