Snow Showers Expected Throughout Thursday

The snow system moving through Chicago overnight dumped more snow than predicted, and lake-effect snow will continue throughout Thursday morning and into the afternoon. A Hazardous Weather Outlook is in effect, according to the National Weather Service.

The morning rush-hour was slowed but no serious accidents were reported.

The forecast from the National Weather Service: Snow showers with patchy blowing snow before 2 p.m., then a chance of snow showers between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., then a slight chance of snow showers after 4 p.m. Temperature falling to around 13 by 5 p.m. Wind chill values as low as -2.
