Joe Maddon Plays 'Rocky' Song After Game 2 NLCS Loss
The Chicago Cubs manager inspired the team as they were leaving Citi Field in New York.

Down, but not out. That’s the situation the Chicago Cubs find themselves in two games into the National League Championship Series.
But just as the Cubs players were heading out of the locker room at New York’s Citi Field following their 4-1 defeat Sunday night, Manager Joe Maddon made sure they would not leave uninspired. He blasted the “Rocky” theme song in the visiting clubhouse, according to NBC-5-Chicago and other sources.

The music could be heard throughout the clubhouse as the team prepared to leave.
“Sometimes it’s polka music, sometimes it’s Rocky,” Maddon said. “Listen, they beat us, but it’s not nearly over with, and we are really good, as our hashtag, #wearegood. I have a lot of faith in our guys.”
One more thing. The last time a Chicago team played a New York team with a trip to the finals on the line was 1993 when the Bulls faced the Knicks in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. The cocky Knicks took the first two in New York. Four games later, and it was the Bulls who were celebrating yet another playoff victory over New York.
