Lake View Man Accused of Lighting Couch on Fire

CHICAGO, IL - A Lake View man accused of lighting a couch on fire in an alley in the 900 block of W. Belmont Ave. has been charged with arson.

Colin Weis, 24, of the 3200 block of N. Clark St. was charged Tuesday in connection with the incident that was reported around 2:50 a.m. that morning.

Police reports indicate officers witnessed Weis ignite the couch "next to recycled oil from a restaurant which is kept adjacent to the building."

The Chicago Fire Department responded to the flames.

Weis was charged on scene.
