Man Beaten And Robbed, Found At Lake View Red Line Stop

Police are seeking the public's help in finding the person who beat and robbed a man who was found unresponsive at the Sheridan stop.

CHICAGO, IL -- Police said an attack on a 70-year-old man in early August left the victim "unresponsive and unable to communicate." The victim came out of his unresponsive state last week, according to police, and was able to identify his attacker. The 70-year-old was robbed and beaten on a CTA Red Line train.

The victim was found unresponsive and unable to speak on Aug. 7 at around 2:30 a.m. at the Sheridan stop, according to police. The man was taken to Thorek Hospital for treatment. Police said the man was unable to communicate until last Thursday, when he told them about the attack.

Investigators said they were able to get a hold of CTA video, which showed that the attack happened at what appeared to be the Granville "L" stop in Edgewater. (For more local news, subscribe to free email news alerts and a daily newsletter for your hometown Patch.)
