Man Charged With Robberies In Lake View

Police said the man robbed two women and attempted to rob another.

CHICAGO — An Edgewater man has been arrested after robberies in the Lake View neighborhood. He was taken into custody after police said they saw him make an illegal U-turn in Uptown, and patrol officers noticed he matched the suspect description given by victims who had been robbed.

Dujuan Oliver, 27, has been charged with felony counts each of aggravated robbery, robbery and attempted robbery.

Court records show that Oliver threatened women in two separate robberies Sunday morning and stole their cellphones and purses, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune. He also attempted to rob another woman, and punched her in the head when she didn't comply, according to the report.

Oliver was held on $50,000 bond. He's due back in court Friday.
