Overnight Winter Parking Ban Goes Into Effect
Parking ban will be enforced from 3 to 7 a.m. on affected streets whether it snows or not through March 31, 2016.

Can’t find your car? Did you park it on a snow route? Chicago’s annual winter overnight parking ban goes into effect on Tuesday, Dec. 1 and runs through March 31, 2016.
The parking ban will be enforced during the hours of 3 to 7 a.m. and impacts 107 miles of critical arterials throughout the city.
Affected main streets need to be kept clear of parked vehicles to allow Chicago Streets and Sanitation crews to salt and plow streets, and to ensure the smooth flow of CTA buses.

Cars parked in violation of the overnight ban prevent critical routes from being fully plowed and salted when it snows. During a snowfall, a build-up of snow next to parked vehicles on these routes further reduces traffic flow.
Whether it snows or not, vehicles parked on streets where overnight parking is banned during the winter months will be towed.

Violators face a minimum $150 towing fee, a $60 ticket and a storage fee of $20 per day. Vehicles will be towed to Pounds 2 (10301 S. Doty Ave.) or 6 (701 N. Sacramento).
Motorists are advised to check all signs before parking on a street. For more information on the overnight parking ban and a map of impacted streets, visit the Chicago Streets and Sanitation Department website.
