Police Investigating 2 Recent Purse Snatchings in Lake View
The first robbery was Sept. 12, and the second was Sept. 17. Police are asking residents for help.

Two recent Lake View purse snatching have police asking residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The first robbery occurred around 6:15 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 1300 block of West Henderson Street, and the second was at around 12:15 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 2800 block of North Pine Grove Avenue, the report stated. In both cases, the suspect snatched the victims’ purses by coming up behind them, the report added.
The suspect’s description, according to the report, is as follows:

- a black man, 18 to 22 years old
- 5-feet-8 to 6 feet tall,
- about 160 to 170 pounds
He was seen wearing fringed, moccasin-style boots in the first purse snatching, and he was reported wearing a turquoise do-rag, black T-shirt and blue sweatpants in the second robbery, the report stated.
