Police Warn Of North Side Armed Robberies
Suspects went after victims in North Center, Roscoe Village, Lake View and Lincoln Park, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert warning of a string of armed robberies on the North Side. There were eight robberies between May 14 and May 17, police said. In each incident, the victim was walking alone on the sidewalk, when the offenders would approach and either put a gun to the victim's head or show a gun in their waistband and demand property, according to police.
More suspects would either hold the victim or go through their clothing in search of property, police said.
The armed robberies happened in the following locations:

• 1300 block of W. Wellington on May 14 at around 12:05 a.m.
• 1300 block of W. Wellington on May 14 at around 12:20 a.m.
• 2200 block of W. Melrose on May 14 between 1 a.m. – 1:15 a.m.
• 1800 block of W. Roscoe on May 17 at around 1 a.m.
• 3500 block of N. Leavitt on May 17 at around 1:05 a.m.
• 500 block of W. Arlington on May 17 at around 2:30 a.m.
• 1800 block of W. Larchmont on May 17 at around 3 p.m.
• 2100 block of W. Byron on May 17 at around 5 p.m.
In one of the robberies, suspects were seen fleeing in a dark vehicle that looked like a Jeep, police said.
