Police Warn Of Surge In Street Crime On North Side
The latest victim was a woman riding a Divvy bike on North Sedgwick Street in the early evening, according to reports.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued several community alerts after multiple robberies on Chicago's North Side. The latest victim was a woman riding a Divvy bike in Old Town, according to ABC 7. She was robbed Wednesday night around 5:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Sedgwick, police said.
The woman was knocked off her bike in less than ten seconds and the robbers stole her purse and took off, ABC 7 reported.
Another robbery victim was pistol-whipped and shot at on North Sedgwick a week prior, according to the report.

There have also been robberies throughout the city's Lakeview, Lincoln Park, and Gold Coast neighborhoods, police said.
The robberies happened in the following locations:

Sat., Jan. 13 in the 1300 block of North Astor Street
Sat., Jan. 20 in the 300 block of West North Avenue
Sun, Jan. 21 in the 2200 block of North Bissell Street
All three robberies happened in the early morning hours. In each of the incidents, a suspect walked up to the victim, pulled out a gun, and stole property, according to police.
