Uptown Drug Investigation Leads To 8 Arrests
Chicago police are searching for five more suspects.

CHICAGO, IL — Eight people were arrested after police launched a narcotics investigation targeting West Argyle Street in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. Two deadly shootings over the past two weeks prompted police to open the investigation. Police also seized cash and vehicles, and are currently seeking five suspects.
All eight people arrested were charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance. Police said the majority of them were members of Chicago street gangs, including the Gangster Disciples, Black Disciples, Black P Stones, 4 Corner Hustler and Black P Stones.
According to a community alert, the investigation was launched "in large part due to concerns of residents about this violence and narcotics sales in the area."

A man was shot Monday night in the 1200 block of West Leland, about a block away from where three people were shot in a Starbucks Nov. 2. Police said the shooting in Starbucks was likely a result of a drug deal between the shooter and the man who was killed. The suspect—who wore a mask—followed the man into the Starbucks and fired on the man, the boy and one other person, police said.
