1. Former Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke was released from prison Thursday after serving three years for killing Laquan McDonald in 2014. He served less than half of his seven-year sentence for the killing, in which he shot the teenager 16 times. (Patch)
2. More than 30 Chicago businesses have been cited for violating the vaccine proof mandate. The Halal Guys, Tavern on Rush and two local swim schools are among the businesses breaking the rule requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccine upon entry. (Paid source: Tribune)
