Watch This Jeep Driver Escape the Clutches of a Chicago Tow Truck

Chicago’s tow-truck drivers are notorious for plucking vehicles from the city streets.

Sometimes, those cars even deserve to be towed. One Jeep driver, however, refused to be put on the hook and carted away. Tony Marengo captured that triumphant moment on video and posted to YouTube for posterity.

Marengo says he often sees cars towed from the Walgreen’s parking lot near his River North apartment – but never with a driver still at the wheel.

“Hey buddy,” the driver shouts at the tow-truck driver Sunday evening at about 8:30 p.m. as the truck rolls down the street and then comes to a stop at Clark and Ontario.

And then ... wheels start turning.
