Barrington Hills Home Invasion Trial Underway
Kuhn Kim, 28, of Wilmette could face up to 45 years in prison if convicted on charges brought against him for the violent home invasion, according to media reports.

A trial got underway Wednesday for 28-year-old Kuhn Kim of Wilmette who is accused of holding a Barrington Hills family at gunpoint in their home and demanding $2,000 from them, according to the Daily Herald.
Kyoko Ogino, 64, took the stand Wednesday, telling the court Kim entered their home on Dec. 5, 2008 and demanded the money before striking her several times in the head with a gun, binding her hands and ordering her to stay in a closet, according to the article.
He is also accused of confronting Ogino's husband, Toshio Ogino, with the gun and ordering he and their son into the closet, according to the Daily Herald.
After Kim left in the family's Jaguar sedan, the family was able to escape from the closet, according to the Chicago Tribune. Kim faces up to 45 years in prison on the charges, according to the article.
