Book Fair to Benefit May Whitney Elementary

will hold a book fair Nov. 12 at Barnes & Noble in Deer Park.

Shoppers can present vouchers that will result in a percentage of the net sale of purchases being donated to May Whitney Elementary. Vouchers are available on the school website.

The store will be open to the public that day, but there will be lots of activities for students and others to enjoy, including:

• A performance by Mirabelli performers
• A visit from Reese the reading dog;
• A visit from the "Swan Man" because May Whitney students are all reading The Trumpet of the Swan
• A scavenger hunt that reveals the new name of the school mascot
• Book readings from fifth-graders and May Whitney Principal Lettie Ekovich
• Barnes & Noble will turn its café into the Wildcat Café

The book fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with activities taking place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
