Burglary and Theft Complaints, Traffic Violations

This week's Lake Zurich police reports.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Burglary Complaints

Police are investigating a burglary on the 300 block of north Rand Rd. Police responded to the call at 9:39 a.m., April 15, that several items, with a value of $2,070, were removed by an unknown subject.

On April 19, at 9:09 a.m., a complainant on the 400 block of Oakwood Rd., reported that about 1,500 pounds of brass was stolen from their business. Police are investigating.

Traffic Violations

On April 16, at 11:34 p.m., police arrested Maribel Chavez, 44, 8067 Sheridan Rd.#42, Kenosha, WI, for driving without a valid drivers license, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without headlamps. She was stopped at Rte. 12 and Pheasant Ridge Road. Chavez was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 6.

 

On April 18, at 9:13 a.m., Juan M. Sanchez-Gusman, 34, 3025 N. Albany, Chicago, was stopped on the 600 block of south Rand Rd. for not wearing his seatbelt.  He was charged with failure to wear a safety belt and driving without a valid license. He was released on a $1.500 personal recognizance bond with a May 6 court date.

 

Luis Cordoba, 31, 902 Ridge Ave., Wauconda, was arrested for driving without a valid license during a traffic stop on the 300 block of south Old Rand Rd., at 6:36 a.m., April 20. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 20.

 

DUI

Tae S. Hwang, 34, 7B Dundee Quarter #301, Palatine, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol pursuant to a traffic stop in the 100 block of south Ran Rd., 12:39 a.m., April 17. Hwang failed field sobriety tests. Hwang was arrested for DUI, Dui with blood alcohol content more than .08 and improper lane usage. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 16.

 

Cannabis Possession

Jerry A. Kegg, 31, 21280 Arbor Rd., Lake Zurich, was stopped on the 600 block of south Rand Rd., at 10:27 a.m., April 18. He was charged with operating an uninsured vehicle, operating a vehicle with expired registration, driving with a suspended license, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond with a May 16 court date.

Theft

On April 18, at 5:42 p.m., police responded to a report of tools stolen from a business on the 600 block of south Rand Rd. Police are investigating.
