Discovery Museum Presents Program on American Mastodon

The elephant-like American mastodon roamed North America 3.75 million years ago and became extinct 11,000 years ago. There have been over 200 mastodon fossil finds across North America with fossil discoveries most common along the eastern seaboard and in an area immediately south of the Great Lakes. The Lake County Discovery Museum will share interesting facts about the mastodon, including when they lived and what their world was like on Tuesday, March 25 from 10 a.m.-10:45 a.m. for ages 4 to 7 and at 11 a.m.-11:45 a.m. for ages 8 and up. These programs are free but registration is required. To register, please contact the Children's Department at 847/438-3840 or sign up online at www.eapl.org.
