Inside Writing and Publishing Series

Several north suburban libraries are offering a spring series of free seminars on writing and publishing.

The first seminar is from 10 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16. Author and publishing expert Helen Gallagher will discuss the latest methods for getting published and marketing your book.

The second seminar is also on Saturday, April 16. From 1 - 2:30 p.m., author of eight books and over 800 magazine articles, Kelly James-Enger, will discuss magazine terminology and the basics of how to find markets, how to come up with story ideas and how to nail your first magazine assignment.

The third seminar is from 1 - 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. Literary agent and editorial consultant, Sara Wolski, will discuss how to prepare a query letter and the role of an agent in the publishing process.
