Buoyed by its successes during the recently completed winter season, plans for the Central Lake YMCA Turtles Swim Team’s upcoming summer season that starts June 4 will be discussed during a parent’s meeting on Monday, May 14. It begins at 7 p.m. at the Central Lake Y, 700 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills. This meeting is open to the parents of team members as well as those interested in registering their children, which can be done that night. Sign-ups must be completed by May 25 in order to avoid higher late-registration fees.
The Lake County Family YMCA swim program, which includes the Turtles and the Waukegan-based Seahorse competitive teams, is well-rounded in that it also includes fund raising, volunteering and social responsibility development. For more information, visit www.ymcalakecounty.org.
