February's Metro and Local Jobless Rates

The streak of falling jobless rates continued for each metro area and all 102 counties in February, though, as the Illinois Department of Employment Security Director Jeff Mays notes, job growth has been uneven and concentrated in the northeastern part of the state.

While 85 percent of job gains over the past year occurred in only one region of the state, the unemployment rates are in stark contrast to jobless numbers one year ago.
