Here are 11 Proposed Tax Increases in the Illinois Legislature

An update on tax bills that have been introduced in the 99th General Assembly.

Aside from cutting, some Illinois lawmakers, including Gov. Bruce Rauner, have proposed closing the $6.2 billion budget gap for fiscal year 2016 by raising taxes or implementing new ones. Multiple bills are making their way through the General Assembly that would establish or increase taxes.

The plans mostly have been proposed by Democratic lawmakers, but some Republicans have indicated they could be on board with certain plans; though none of the bills have gone to a vote.

Here are the 11 bills currently in the Legislature that either would raise or implement new taxes.
