I'm Poppy And I Love Life And Everyone In It

I'm Poppy, an eight-year-old purebred yellow Labrador Retriever who absolutely loves life and everybody in it. When my transport volunteer came to rescue me from the pound, I was so happy to get out of my cage that I ran all the way to the car –  then I hopped inside like I couldn't wait to start a new adventure!

All my Young At Heart Pet Rescue friends tell me I'm an excellent ambassador for my breed. Like a typical Lab, I'm part playful, part snuggly. That something-for-everyone combination has made us Labs the country's most popular purebred dog.

I'm housebroken, good with other canines, fine with cats, and very much in love with food. Unfortunately, that last personality trait has left me a bit chunky. With the deliciously healthy diet the rescue has me on, I've already lost a few pounds. Now all I need is a walking buddy to help me get the exercise I need to regain my girlish figure.

I've already had all my vaccinations and senior blood work done to check for any problems that might be brewing beneath my beautiful blonde coat. Although I'm very healthy, I must warn you: My enthusiasm is totally contagious. I dare you not to grin when I'm staring up at you adoringly, smiling and wagging my tail. To me, every day really is the best day of my life!
