Lake Co. Gets New Driver Services Facility in Lake Zurich
A longtime Libertyville driver services facility closed on Dec. 29 and a new facility opened in Lake Zurich on Jan. 4.

After 30 years in Libertyville, a driver service’s facility shut its doors in recent weeks and relocated to Lake Zurich.
The driver service facility at 342 Peterson Road in Libertyville closed on Dec. 29 and reopened at 951 S. Rand Road in Lake Zurich on Jan. 4.
The new Lake Zurich facility is expected to draw as many as 1,000 customers per day from Lake, Cook and McHenry counties, the Daily Herald reports. The new space is larger than the Libertyville facility and includes seating for 150 customers as well as more area for standing.

It is also more centrally located between facilities in Waukegan and Woodstock--another reason behind the move. Other area driver services facilities are located in Schaumburg, Deerfield and Des Plaines.
The Lake Zurich facility will handle road tests for driver's licenses, as well as written tests and road tests for motorcyclists; license plates; vehicle ID cards and more.
