Lake Zurich Students to Participate in Walk to School Day
The 2014 International Walk to School Day will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Students from across the Chicago suburbs will take part in the 2014 International Walk to School Day on Wednesday.
The global event involves students from communities in more than 40 countries and includes thousands of participants in states across the U.S. This year, 149 schools in Illinois will participate with students choosing to walk or bike to school on Oct. 8.
Walk to School Day began in 1997 as a one-day event.

“Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October,” according to the Walk to School website.
