LCCIL wants to get out the disability vote! Illinois Primary: Tuesday, March 15
Did you know? 33.7 million Americans of voting age are people with disabilities.
Imagine how things would be different if all 33.7 million individuals with disabilities voted in the last election. What message would that send to our elected officials? Perhaps social services and community supports would be fully funded. Maybe affordable and accessible housing would top the list of legislative priorities. Could public transportation finally be fully recognized as essential to the transportation system in our communities?
People with disabilities have power, but that power won’t be realized until we make the disability vote count! Know who is running, what they stand for, and how they will act on issues. Make an informed decision and then cast your vote!
Help us track the disability vote in our community. If you are a person with a disability residing in Lake or McHenry counties, please email heather@lccil.org to let us know if you voted in the March 15th primary. We don’t need to know who you voted for, just simply that you voted.
