These absolutely amazing dogs will be there looking to adopt their forever families:

Casper - DOB. 3/11/2013

Meet our beautiful, gentle, loving, smart Casper! His breed is a mystery with guesses of Boxer/Blue Heeler/American Stafford Terrier/Dalmatian. He is approximately 1 1/2 yrs old and was surrendered to a kill shelter in KY. His owner loved him very much but like so many people in this economy found himself in a position where he could no longer care for Casper.

His foster family tellls us - He loves to play fetch, go for walks daily and play with other dogs. While he is the smallest dog in his home he loves playing with his much larger foster brother and sister. Casper spent 3 months in a kennel in KY and came to Illinois to find his HOME. Casper is housebroken, loves to go on walks, and after just one week he earned the right to have freedom of our entire home with our pets. Casper is indifferent to our cat, and doesn’t chase or stalk the cat.

Casper understands basic commands: sit ,walk, stay ,leave it and his name. He will take food gently from your hand, gives kisses for free and will follow you throughout the house. He rides well in a car and will make someone a wonderful, loyal companion. Casper does not like to be crated but since he is so well behaved his foster mom allows him the run of the house.

Piper - DOB 2/14/13

Piper was a stray in rural Missouri, a place where dogs are commonly left behind when the owners move or can no longer afford their care. Many of these pups don’t make it, but Piper was lucky enough to be found by a compassionate soul that arranged for her to join our rescue. Our best guess is that she is a husky/shepherd mix, but we are sure there are several other beeds that contribute to her stunning looks and amazing intelligence.

Piper is very smart! She is potty trained, crate trained, walks great on a leash, knows all basic commands, and rides well in a car. She loves to play with other dogs, go on long walks and run around in the backyard.

She can also be silly and makes her fosters laugh at how goofy and cute she is. If you are looking for a pup that is well rounded and lively, Piper would like to meet you!

Piper does not have children in her foster home and she does have the energy of a puppy. She wants to play with everyone and doesn’t know that her playfulness might scare child that has not had dogs...she just wants to play!

There is ONE thing that Piper does not appreciate...that is cats! So she would do best in a home without them. Piper is a wonderful, sweet dog that is looking for a HOME to call her very OWN!

Nelly - DOB 1/8/2013

NELLY!! One of the sweetest, friendliest little guys you will meet! Getting lots of love and attention from his foster family, he knows he is safe now, after being abandoned in Alabama. We are guessing him to be a doxie/terrier mix, mix of cute. Even at 1 year old, he is a fun, playful, silly puppy! If you are looking for a personality to keep you entertained and bring joy to your family, then Nelly would love to cuddle and give you kisses!

Here is what his foster family has to say about him:

It’s like Nelly has always been here! Since day one, he has made himself comfortable.

Nelly is completely crate trained. Since he was underfed, he was a bit protective of his food, which is normal for a dog that had no food supply. He is getting much better at that and is learning that he is safe and will be well taken care of.

He gets along great with our small dog. When he hears another dog in the neighborhood...he likes to go see what is going on. He gets along with children and loves the attention he gets from them. He is learning his limits and when to rough house.

He is very curious, and likes to explore so it would be good if his forever family has a fence. He is so funny when we walk....he tries catching things in his mouth, and barks and chases the geese flying above. He is a great little dog who loves to be pet, loved, and will cuddle with anyone!
