New Life Fall Parenting Seminar Series: Kids and Sports
The first of four monthly seminars on parenting, Kids & sports, will be held at New Life Lutheran Church on September 9th, 2015
New Life Lutheran Church in Lake Zurich, IL, will host a parenting seminar series featuring speakers from Wisconsin Lutheran Child and Family Services. On September 9, the topic is “Kids and Sports—Finding Your Family’s Sweet Spot: Balancing your family’s emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well-being.”
Participating in athletics can provide some of the best experiences and memories for both children and their parents. Yet the demands that come from sports can make it difficult to also balance school, family, and faith. This presentation, by Whitney Donovan, LPC, LMHC, NCC, looks at identifying challenges that athletes and their families may face, making intentional choices, and finding strategies to improve overall well-being while juggling so much. It is possible to find a healthy balance between sports and life, and this presentation will give families the practical tools they need to find that balance!
Presentations in this series will be held on the second Wednesday of the month from September through December, 2015. Each presentation will begin at 7:00 PM. A meal will be served prior to the presentation at 6:30 PM. Child care will be provided. There is no cost to attend the meal or the presentation.
