While the village ranks relatively low statewide, the report underscores how easily deceptive discount websites can trap buyers and why checking BBB resources before ordering can help avoid losses.
   

2. 3 hospitalized after drunk driver slams into another car, leaving 1 unconscious and vehicle in water in Lake Zurich (lakemchenryscanner.com) — A serious crash outside the Costco on South Rand Road in Lake Zurich sent three people to the hospital Saturday afternoon after police say a drunk driver's Mercedes slammed into a Jeep, pushing it into a retention pond. Lake Zurich police arrested the Mercedes driver on aggravated DUI and other charges, and the investigation into the heavily damaging collision is continuing.

The blaze was contained to the garage, leaving the home habitable, while state and local investigators continue to examine what caused the fire and the man's death.
