Police Blotter: Suspended License; Vehicles Damaged

The Lake Zurich Police Department reports crimes and arrests from Oct. 29 and 30.

DUI

Mark A. Lunsford, 50, of 497 McHenry Road, Wheeling, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Oct. 29 near Route 12 and June Terrace. He also was cited with improper lane use, driving the wrong way, operating a vehicle with no registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date.

Traffic

Julio M. Acosta, 43, of 32 E. Michigan, Indianapolis, Ind., was charged with driving while license suspended Oct. 28 near Route 12 and Miller Road. He also was cited with having expired registration. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 7 court date.

Kamil A. Khan, 20, of 1127 E. Randville Drive, Palatine, was charged with driving while license suspended Oct. 28 near Route 12 and Ela Road. Khan was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 7 court date.

Maria G. Segura, 32, of 211 W. Church St., Wauconda, was charged with driving while license suspended Oct. 29 near Route 12 and Golfview Road. She also was cited with failure to secure a child younger than age 8 in a restraint system. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 7 court date.

Theft

Zuis E. Alvarez, 19, of 342 S. Main St., Wauconda, and a 17-year-old boy from Fox Lake were charged with theft Oct. 29 on the 600 block of North Rand Road. Police said Alvarez and the 17-year-old took clothing without paying for the items. Alvarez was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 18 court date, while the juvenile was released to his parents with court action pending.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

A woman reported Oct. 28 that someone damaged her vehicle while it was parked on the 200 block of Whitney Road. The driver-side rear tire was damaged by screws placed under the tire. Damage was estimated at $80. Police are investigating.

A woman reported Oct. 28 that someone smashed the front driver-side window on her vehicle while it was parked on the 900 block of South Rand Road. Damage was estimated at $242. Police are investigating.
