Power Outages Reported As Storms Sweep Through Area

The severe thunderstorm watch for our area has been lifted, but power outages remain after severe storms tore through Lake County this morning.

ComEd is reporting that more than 10,000 customers are without power in the Mt. Prospect region, which includes Lake Zurich. Here in Lake Zurich, Deputy Fire Chief Dave Wheelock said there are power outages across the village. He added that there are trees blocking some intersections, and Lake Zurich Public Works crews are working on clearing those areas.
