Second Attack on Female Jogger Reported in Arlington Heights

Both joggers were reportedly attacked during the early morning hours while running alone, according to media reports.

For the second time in recent weeks, a woman jogging in Arlington Heights was attacked during the early morning hours, according to the Daily Herald. 

The most recent attack occurred today at 5:30 a.m. when a man—who was described as being thin, about 6 feet tall and wearing dark clothing—forced her to the ground in the area of Hintz Road and Haddow Avenue, according to the article. The attacker left after someone helped the woman, according to the Daily Herald. 

The first incident happened around 6 a.m. on Sept. 26 when a man wearing dark clothing grabbed a female jogger and dragged her off a jogging path at Lake Arlington Park, 1400 E. Valley Lane, according to an earlier article on the Daily Herald. 

The woman was not injured and was able to get away, according to the article.

Police are encouraging residents not to run alone or in secluded areas and to avoid wearing headphones, according to the Chicago Tribune. Anyone with information regarding the incidents should call Arlington Heights police at (847) 368-5338, according to the article.
