Read Around Town with the Library This Summer!

This summer we’re putting a “zippy” new spin on our traditional summer reading club. It’s all about community and the fun adventures we share inside a great story. We’re inviting readers of all ages to read along with us and add to our interactive community art project inside the library.

For every two books checked out, participants will receive a colorful zip-tie. (All books count – print, audio, ebooks, and graphic novels.) Participants will add their zip-ties to whimsical trees in the library’s Read Around Town display, creating a forest of color celebrating our growing community of readers. The interactive display will also feature shared book recommendations and reading experiences, in addition to “get caught reading” photos. Where will you “get caught reading?” On a camp out? On a sandy beach? Nestled in a hammock in the shade on a sultry summer day? Share your reading adventures with us!

Library staff will be involved by encouraging patrons to “Ask us what we’re reading!” Everyone knows that the best advice on the next great read can be found at the library. Stop by the library and ask us – it’s our mission to connect readers with just the right book.

The library van will be #CruisingtheCommunity, visiting locations throughout the library district with fun prizes, games, storytelling and more.
