Teaching Life Lessons through Art with Smiling Shamrock Art Studio and Characters of Character: 2 Week morning sessions, once a month

Looking for a unique way to teach your kids this summer? We are offering a morning Summer Camp teaching life skills like being a friend, or good health, or good manners through activities and art!
All activities and Art are different each session, so a children may take this lesson 1 time or 3 times this summer. Best for Children 5 to 9 years old. $215 per 2 week morning session add $12 for an early drop off at 8:30

First session: June 6th through June 18th a Monday through Friday program, 9:30am-noon.
Second session: July 11th through July 23rd a Monday through Friday program, 9:30am-noon
Third session: August 1st through August 13th a Monday through Friday program, 9:30am-noon

Life Skills through Activities & Art-Description:
Day 1: Mind your manners please, and thank you!
First we will discuss manners, and then each child will work on their own mini story about Manners Monkey to take home and share with the family. They will paint a monkey on canvas, take home a chart or poster to use at home and hang on the fridge as a daily reminder to use good manners. At the end of the session each child will be rewarded a Certificate of Achievement for using manners on this day!
Day 2: Chime into being responsible like Responsible Rabbit! First we will discuss what it means to be responsible, and then each child will work on their own mini story about Responsible Rabbit to take home and share with the family. ! Each child will make their own wind chime out of wood and each with metal chimes and about 11” in length. Each child will take home a chart or poster to use at home and hang on the fridge as a daily reminder to be responsible. At the end of the session each child will be rewarded a Certificate of Achievement for being responsible on this day!
Day 3: Planting with Do’er Duck! First we will discuss what it means to persevere, and then each child will work on their own mini story about perseverance with Do’er Duck to take home and share with the family. Each child will plant their own sunflower seeds in the painted pot that they make. They will take home a graph to chart the progress of their sunflowers growth and be able to plant it at home in no time! A Certificate of Achievement will be rewarded at the end of this session for “Never Giving Up”!
Day 4: Tune into good behavior with Behavior Bear! First we will discuss what it means to have good behavior, and then each child will work on their own mini story about Behavior Bear to take home and share with the family. Each child will make their own wooden Maracas, each about 5” in length. Each child will take home a chart or poster to use at home as a reminder to be on your best behavior every day. At the end of the session each child will be rewarded a Certificate of Achievement for having good behavior!
Day 5: Healthy habits with Healthy Hippo! First we will discuss what it means to have healthy habits, do an activity that the child will take home and share with the family, plus, each child will take home a chart or poster to use at home as a reminder to have healthy habits. Each child will make a ceramic bowl to put their healthy snacks in! At the end of the session each child will be rewarded a Certificate of Achievement for having healthy habits!
Day 6: Friends can paint together with Friendship Frog! First we will discuss friendship, and then each child will work on their own mini story about Friendship Frog to take home and share with the family. They will paint a frog on canvas, take home a chart or poster to use at home and hang on the fridge as a daily reminder to be friendly. At the end of the session each child will be rewarded a Certificate of Achievement for using manners on this day!
Day 7: Respecting myself and others with Respectful Rabbit! First, we will discuss what it means to be respectful, and then we will make a Respectful Rabbit headband and make a mini story about being respectful with Respectful Rabbit to take home, along with a chart or poster to display and be reminded to be respectful. At the end of the session each child will be rewarded a Certificate of Achievement for being respectful on this day!
Day 8: I Like ME with Self-Esteem Elephant! First, we will discuss being proud of who we are and then make a mini story about Self-Esteem Elephant to take home and share with the family. The children will make a beaded necklace and share what it is that they are proud about with themselves, take home a chart or poster to use at home and hang on the fridge as a daily reminder to be proud of who you are. At the end of the session each child will be rewarded a Certificate of Achievement for being proud of themselves for the day!
Day 9: Let’s be kind with Warm-Hearted Walrus! First we will discuss being kind and then each child will work on their own mini story about Warm-Hearted Walrus to take home and share with the family. They will make a heart weaved mat, take home a chart or poster to use at home and hang on the fridge as a daily reminder to use good manners. At the end of the session each child will be rewarded a Certificate of Achievement for using manners on this day!

Day 10: If you have good character, then you are like a Super Hero! We will make Super Hero projects and review the characters. The children will emphasize their favorite trait and bring home lots of goodies!
