Top Box Foods Express Delivers Great Affordable Food for All This Saturday April 11th to Round Lake at Magee Middle School

Top Box Foods Express, a non-profit organization, truck’s rolled into three Lake County communities in September 2014 and sold more than 1350 boxes over three days during its inaugural deliveries.

Seven months later nearly 2,200 individuals and families have enjoyed purchasing over 4,100 boxes filled with of garden fresh, high quality fruit, vegetables and frozen meats, such as beef, chicken, turkey, pork and fish at a savings of up to 40% off grocery store prices.

Many customers, realizing the incredible value of the boxes have returned again and again to the once a month delivery while others have enthusiastically brought families members and friends to share in the savings. Sabrina Bermingham, a VISTA volunteer for Top Box Foods, who is present at all three delivery locations, shares, “Customers and volunteers alike have a great time at the delivery event, the process from ordering to volunteers carrying the boxes to the customer ‘s car is quick, easy and fun.”

The next delivery weekends are this Saturday, April 11th at Magee Middle School, 500 N. Cedar Lake Road, Round Lake from 9 to 11 a.m.; Wednesday, April 15th in North Chicago at the North Chicago Public Library, 2100 Argonne Avenue, from 4 to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, April 18th at Waukegan’s Carman-Buckner Elementary School, 520 Helmholz Road, from 10 a.m. to noon. Top Box Foods Express accepts cash credit, debit and Link cards.

Top Box Foods Express is a once-a-month savings opportunity that is open to everyone. Community residents can purchase delicious foods at up to 40 percent off the retail equivalents helping shoppers’ stretch their food budgets. No pre-ordering is required, no advance sign up or resident restrictions. Customers can simply visit any delivery location, shop and leave with deeply discounted savings on the high quality fruits, vegetables and frozen meats from the sites in Round Lake, North Chicago and Waukegan.

For only $10 dollars customers can purchase a Garden Box filled with a seasonal mix of just picked fruits and vegetables.

The Meat Box at $11.00 is value packed with a variety of chicken, beef, or turkey.

The Large Meat Box holds double the quantity of the meat box choices with the addition of pork and fish and sells for between $22.00 and $24.00 – price varies according to value.

Customers who purchase a Garden and Meat Box together enjoy a $1.00 discount for a total cost of $20.00 for the two boxes.
