Volunteer to host an international exchange student!

Host families needed for international high school exchange students

Please consider opening your home to an international exchange student next school year. CIEE is a non-profit exchange program that works with students from over 70 countries to find caring homes during their stay in the U.S. The NW Chicago suburbs offer amazing public high schools that recognize the value international students bring to our community.

Our exchange students have their own medical insurance and spending money. They are held to strict academic and behavior standards. They attend the public high school in their host family's district, and participate in classes and activities like every other student.

Hosts come from all backgrounds- single, married, LGBT, kids or no kids, empty nesters, retirees, all ethnic and religious affiliations. Hosts are asked to provide adequate sleeping arrangements, meals, and transportation as needed. The main qualification is a willingness to welcome an exchange student as part of your family for a semester or school year.
As your Local Coordinator, I support you, your exchange student, and their school throughout the process. I am happy to answer any questions, and help you decide if hosting is right for you. I can be reached at www.katepedigo.com
