10-Acre Property At 131st, Derby Purchased By Lemont Park District

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Park District and Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A have completed the sale of a 10-acre property at 131st Street and Derby Road, according to a release from the park district.

The property was purchased for $1 million, the park district said.

The park district said it has received notable feedback about parks and recreational space on the east side of Lemont. The school district agreed to keep the land within the local government, and the park district identified the need for increased park and open space in the area, so it was a "win-win" situation, the park district said.

The transaction took place Wednesday, the park district said.

As with every park project, the Lemont Park District will engage with residents through the
agency’s “Make Your Park” process later this year to discuss the future of this site.
