150th Anniversary Fest Planned Saturday In Downtown Lemont

The fest will feature food, face painting, carnival games, live entertainment, raffles and more.

LEMONT, IL — To close out a week of 150th anniversary celebrations, the Village will hold the 150th anniversary fest from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday in downtown Lemont.

The fest will feature live entertainment:

  • 1 p.m., Lemont High School band
  • 2 p.m., Lithuanian folk dancers
  • 3 p.m., Slovenian Youth Group marela dancers
  • 4 p.m., Irish dancers
  • 5 p.m., pierogi eating contest

There will also be face painters, balloon artists and games on Front Street; as well as carnival games, a new mural, mining rocks activity, 150th anniversary photo booth, and food.

The Lemont Junior Woman's Club will offer trikes, games, competitions, raffles and more; and the Lemont Area Historical Society will present "chicken poop" Bingo. Ruby Whiskers Animal Rescue will also be at the event with pets for adoption.

Food includes ice cream, pierogis, Polish sausage, icees and popcorn, as well as offerings from Bottles, Wooden Paddle, Creamery, Totura's, Next Mex, Celina's, Slovenian Center, Lithuanian World Center and more. Pollyanna has also created a Lemont 150 Lager Anniversary beer to celebration the Village's 150th incorporation.
