The company also said this is the second individual who has tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic.
LEMONT, IL — An ALDI employee at the Lemont location has tested positive for the coronavirus within the past two weeks, ALDI told Patch. The company also said this is the second individual who has tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic; it did not say when the first person had tested positive.
"The health and well-being of our employees and customers is our highest priority," ALDI told Patch. The employee who has tested positive is in quarantine and on paid leave, the company said.
"We will continue to partner with state and local health experts, and follow the guidance of the CDC. We’ve enacted a number of initiatives to further promote health and safety for both customers and employees," the company said.

One-way aisles have been implemented at the store, as well as signage and floor decals reminding people to social distance. The company said temporary protective barriers have also been installed at checkout and shopping carts are cleaned continuously throughout the day.
"We require all of our store and warehouse employees to wear masks or face coverings during their shifts and encourage our shoppers to do the same," ALDI said. "We also take the temperatures of our store and warehouse employees and have employees complete a basic health screening before reporting to work."
