• Halloween Costume Swap Planned At Lemont Park District (patch.com) — Lemont families can refresh their Halloween wardrobes at the Lemont Park District's free costume swap later this month. Residents may drop off gently used costumes at the CORE starting Sept. 15, then pick out new-to-them outfits during the Sept. 24 evening swap, even without bringing one to exchange.
   

• Felon who posed as Pablo Escobar's son admits bilking pro basketball player and others out of millions (suntimes.com) — A convicted Chicago fraudster is forfeiting his Lemont residential compound after admitting he swindled investors out of at least $5.7 million and evaded federal and Illinois taxes. Prosecutors say the money funded his Lemont estate, luxury shopping, travel, and vehicles, and his new plea deal could add up to 3½ years to his existing federal prison sentence.
