LEMONT, IL — The annual senior health fair, hosted by State Rep. Jim Durkin and State Sen. John Curran, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 14 at the CORE Fitness Center, 16050 W. 127th St.

"This is a great event for seniors to learn what state and local services are available to them, as well as taking advantage of free screenings in one location,” Durkin, the House Republican leader, said in a release. “With health and safety measures in place, I encourage all seniors and their families to stop by this free event to learn more about the free services and information available to them.”

During the free event, older adults can access free healthcare screenings like blood pressure, hearing, fall prevention and flu shots. Other services like photo identification cards, prescription drug collection, eyeglass and hearing aid collection, tips on how to save money on energy bills and more will also be provided at the event, according to a release.

The Secretary of State’s I-CASH division will be on-site to help connect seniors with unclaimed property, and there will also be a Rules of the Road class geared toward seniors at 10 a.m., according to a release.

“This event is always well-attended, and once again we will have several not-for-profit organizations, businesses and medical professionals on hand who focus on improving the lives of senior citizens,” Curran said in a release. “With COVID-19 precautions in place for everyone’s protection, I’m looking forward to a great turnout for this year’s event.”
