Bethany Lutheran Church will be hosting a performance of “Keeping Faith: Sisters of Story” on Saturday, September 9 at 3pm with a dessert reception to follow. This special performance brings together three exceptional storytellers to share stories from their own faiths—Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Speaking from personal experience and tradition, their stories speak to shared values of faith, the power of compassion, and the bonds of sisterhood and community. Storytellers Rohina Malik, Kim Schultz, and Susan Stone will be accompanied by musician Lucia Thomas in an hour and half performance.

“Stories have a powerful way of connecting people. Lutherans believe that we are called to work for justice and peace in all the world. Sometimes the pursuit of peace begins with simply listening to a story,” says Pr. Elaina Salmon, of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Tickets will be sold for this event. The cost is $10 for students and $15 for adults. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Bethany Lutheran Church (630-257-7953) or at the door on the day of the performance (500 Lemont St). All guests are invited to stay for a dessert reception, immediately following the performance, where they can meet and talk with the storytellers. The building is handicap accessible.
Bethany Lutheran Church, founded in 1872, is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
