Blood Stain Matches Gun Burglar’s DNA: Cops
A 20-year-old Naperville man is accused of breaking into a Lemont home where he allegedly stole five guns and jewelry.

LEMONT, IL -- A blood stain left behind at the scene of a residential burglary matched a 20-year-old Naperville man accused of stealing guns and jewelry. Daniel Davey appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of residential burglary. Davey was picked up on a $100,000 arrest warrant, prosecutors said.
According to the charges, the daughter arrived at her parents’ home in the 0-20 block of Norwalk Court in Lemont around 11 p.m. March 4. The prosecutor said the basement window was shattered and her parents’ bedroom door had been kicked in and the room ransacked. Five guns were reported stolen as well as jewelry. Police found a blood stain on the bedroom floor, which was set to the Illinois State Police Crime Lab for DNA testing. The blood matched Davey’s profile, the prosecutor said.
Davey, of the 1500 block of Tara Belle Parkway, is on second chance probation for a 2018 felony retail theft conviction in DuPage County until 2020, the prosecutor said. Davey is a high school dropout who just finished 27 days of drug rehabilitation at New Beginnings. He is currently living in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood in a sober living facility.
