Central School Ribbon Cutting Planned For August

LEMONT, IL — As the start of a new school year approaches, District 113A Will hold a ribbon cutting for Central School, which will open with the new school year.

The ribbon cutting will be held on Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. at the school, 410 McCarthy Road.

The building will be open for tours until 9 p.m. after the ribbon cutting, according to the district.

Central has been undergoing renovations for over a year, after the community successfully passed a referendum to renovate and reopen the school, which had been closed since 2011. The renovations included a 9,000-square-foot addition to the school.

Groundbreaking for the project was held in August 2021.
