Chicago Blaze Win Home Opener vs Chicago Riot
Chicago Blaze a trail to 32-7 victory under the lights in Lemont. Match was a makeup due to last Saturday's lightning and storm.
The Chicago Blaze shook off a slow start to win their home opener in Division 2 Midwest League play. The Chicago Riot moved up from Division 3 this season and dominated ball possession in the first half. Regardless, the Blaze lead at the half 3 - 0.
Kevin Garbis scored an early second half try to give the Blaze a 10 - 0 lead. A penalty kick made it 13 - 0 a few minutes later. The Riot fought back and cut the lead to 13 - 7. It was pretty much all Blaze through full time. A late Blaze try gave the Blaze the Midwest League bonus point for four tries.
Final 32 - 7.

The Blaze has a bye weekend to celebrate Labor Day and will resume play on 9/6 at our Homecoming game vs the South Side Irish in Division 2 & 4 matches. Kick offs will be at 1 and 3 pm.
All community members are welcome to attend and admission to games are free.
