Cooling Centers Open, Late Waste Management Pick-Up Due To Heat
Lemont will be under an excessive heat warning on Wednesday.
LEMONT, IL — As heat indices of 115 degrees are expected for the Chicago area, including Lemont, cooling centers are available for residents in need.
Cooling centers are available during normal business hours at:
- Lemont Park District CORE, 16028 127th St., 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday; and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
- Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St., 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday
- Lemont Township, 1115 Warner Ave., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Village Hall, 418 Main St., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

Waste Management will also service Lemont at 5 a.m. instead of 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday due to the extreme heat.
Lemont will be under an excessive heat warning on Wednesday as heat indices of 115 are expected. Tuesday will see heat index values of 105, and Thursday will see 110, according to the National Weather Service.
