Cop On A Rooftop In Lemont Supports Special Olympics Illinois

Lemont officers will be at Dunkin' at 12371 Derby Road and 15629 W 127th St., starting at 6 a.m., to collect donations.

LEMONT, IL — Raising awareness for Special Olympics Illinois, the Lemont Police Department will participate in the Cop on a Rooftop event on May 19.

Officers across the state collect money to benefit Special Olympics Illinois at participating Dunkin' locations. Lemont officers will be at Dunkin' at 12371 Derby Road and 15629 W 127th St., starting at 6 a.m., to collect donations.

Proceeds go to the Special Olympics athletes of Illinois, the department said.

Dunkin' and Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run have partnered for more than 20 years for Special Olympics Illinois. More than $7.6 million has been raised in Illinois, according to the Special Olympics website.

The event will take place rain or shine. The department said that T-shirts are available for a $20 donation, hats for a $15 donation and mugs (with a coupon for a free fill of coffee) for a $10 donation. Every donation will receive a free Dunkin' coupon.
